I moved my batteries aft just behind the baggage compartment bulkhead. I used 1.25” aluminum angle that I got from the local Ace hardware store.

One angle was attached to the bottom of the baggage bulkhead. Another 6” angle was attached with pop rivets to the right stringer. A second 6” angle was attached to the stringer that supports the elevator horn. Then lay another angle across the two angles to support the aft batteries. Some more angles are attached from that rear angle forward to the bulkhead angle. That completes the batteries holder.

Then a support across the top with long bolts which attach to another support under the battery frame. I ran three # 6 wires forward through the center tunnel then through the right spar section through the right gear support cage and forward along the floor.

These three wires come though the firewall below the battery relay. One wire continues to the ground buss on the engine side of the firewall. The two other wires are the power wires from each of the batteries to either side of the battery relay.

The grounds from each battery are bolted to the vertical support for the elevator then one wire continues forward to the firewall ground.

Don’t forget to remove any ballast from the tail if you had previously installed some. Check your weight and balance.
