Drilling nose gear bolt hole |
| I
didn’t know how the drill the holes for the nose gear.
After looking at the engine, I decided to drill the hole while
I had the engine on the shop floor. I laid it on it’s
side and leveled it, then leveled the gear leg. I was able to
drill the hole from the firewall side. I also made a drilling
jig for the four mounting bolts along the bottom of the firewall.
I made the jig from some 1/8” aluminum bar stock. I drill
the holes to match the engine mount. Then after drilling the
two outer holes, I was able to put drill jig in place to drill
the two inter holes. Everything went together just fine. There
are some pictures of that procedure. |
